Next Rescue Diver Class starts May 26th 2009
The PADI rescue diver program is both challenging and rewarding.
The focus of this class is learning how to recognize potential
problems before they happen and coming to the aid of divers
who may be experiencing a problem during a dive. This training
will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage
dive emergencies. This is probably the most physically demanding
of all the recreational certifications. Many divers say this
is the best course they’ve ever taken. You'll cover:
• Self-rescue and diver
stress
• Emergency management and equipment
• Panicked diver response
• In-water rescue breathing protocols
• Egress (exits)
• Dive accident scenarios
Depending on class size there will be two or three knowledge
review sessions. These sesiions will be a review of the material
covered in the PADI Rescue Diver manual. You must complete
all of the knowledge reviews in this manual prior to attending
the classroom sessions.
There will be one or two (again depending on class size) pool training sessions.
During pool training you will learn rescue techniques and practice different
scenarios. The pool training sessions will help you increase your skill level
and increase your confidence while performing rescues.
